For the past three years, our son Jeremy Schaefer has participated in the Charity Trek for research for AIDS .Spoonerville Shepherds is proud to help promote this very worthwhile organization on our web site.
When you visit CharityTrek.org, you will be able to see a list of the individual bicyclists you can sponsor. We encourage you to select a participant to “back”. Of course, we would love you to select Jeremy (info on him below), but we will be very happy when you sponsor any cyclist on the list!
Our son Jeremy decided several years ago to dedicate his life to helping others. Very serious about his mission, he lives as frugally as he can so he may donate as much of his earnings as possible to charities like winter heat programs for the disadvantaged, breast cancer and AIDS research, and humane societies, He even "camps out" during summer months so he may donate as much as possible!
A 34 year old single parent, Jeremy is very physically active, running a minimum of 20 miles per day or bicycling up to 40 miles after work. Having several years experience as a carpenter, he donates some of his time making house repairs for those who cannot afford it themselves. But he also is dedicated to his 7 year old son. They enjoy participating together in the shorter, smaller events like 1 mile runs and rides.
2010 is Jeremy's third year with the Charity Trek. We'd love for you to donate under his name, but any donation sponsoring any of the riders is our goal. Please visit CharityTrek. It's a worthwhile grassroots cause and we hope you will take a moment to be a part of it!
